The President Private Hospital redevelopment will modernise and expand the existing hospital in Kirrawee to better serve the Sutherland Shire community.

Originally built in 1973, the hospital currently provides rehabilitation services and surgical facilities.

The redevelopment will deliver:

• A new 72-bed voluntary overnight mental health unit
• An expanded rehabilitation unit increasing capacity from 47 beds to 110 beds
• Improved surgical and medical facilities
• More private patient rooms
• Upgraded access, wayfinding and hospital entry
• Purpose-designed therapeutic outdoor spaces for patients, visitors and the community

The new design carefully manages building height and scale to respect surrounding residential areas while creating a clear and welcoming presence at the intersection of President Avenue and Hotham Street. The redevelopment also improves landscaping, public open space, pedestrian access and public transport connections.

This project will transform the existing ageing facility into a contemporary healthcare environment that meets current clinical standards and community expectations.
