Established in Kirrawee in 1973, President Private Hospital has become part of the local healthcare landscape, caring for generations of patients from the Sutherland Shire and surrounding communities.
The redevelopment represents the next chapter in that story — building on more than five decades of local care while creating modern clinical environments, improved patient accommodation and facilities designed for contemporary healthcare delivery.

The Holt-Sutherland Estate
The President Private Hospital site sits on land that originally formed part of the Holt-Sutherland Estate, granted during the 1860s.

Hotham House is built
Hotham House at 65 Hotham Road was built around 1912, when Kirrawee and the surrounding district remained largely semi-rural and poultry farming was common throughout the area.

Kirrawee grows
As the Sutherland Shire expanded, surrounding farmland was progressively subdivided for residential development, particularly in the years following World War II.

President Private Hospital
President Private Hospital was established on the site in the early 1970s and became an important local healthcare provider for the Sutherland Shire community.

The redevelopment is designed to transform an ageing facility into a contemporary healthcare environment while recognising the history and character of the site.

Hotham House is recognised as a local heritage item under the Sutherland Shire Local Environmental Plan 2015 and forms an important part of the history of the President Private Hospital site.
The redevelopment has been planned with consideration for this history and the character of the surrounding area — recognising the site's past while planning for its future.
